Gold Coast 100 Year Cemeteries Strategy

The Better Cities Group in collaboration with Byron Artelier were commissioned to develop a strategy for the Gold Coast which would meet three generations of cemetery capacity for the Gold Coast community. This involved :

  • the regeneration of three existing sites (Southport General, Southport Lawn and Mudgeeraba)

  • the identifications and structure planning of new two new sites (over 40 hectares)

  • demographic forecasting to identify capacity requirements around the City

  • identification of place making opportunities

  • identification of additional revenue generation models to offset maintenance costs
