Alice Springs Engagement Guideline

Better Cities developed the Alice Springs Stakeholder Engagement Guideline by undertaking a structured, best‑practice process that combined benchmarking, internal engagement and tailored methodology to suit the unique Central Australian context.

This included benchmarking against other Councils of similar size, demographic, and geographic location approach and identifying ASTC’s strengths, challenges and opportunities.

We then worked closely with Councillors and staff to co‑design the engagement vision, values and objectives, capturing themes such as inclusiveness, transparency, cultural respect and continuous improvement.

This collaborative process informed a practical, four‑step toolkit - plan, approve, implement, evaluate, supported by templates, methods matrices and clear roles and responsibilities, ensuring ASTC has a consistent, culturally appropriate and scalable framework for future engagement.
