Gympie Industrial Land Study

Better Cities Group and Development Directive delivered the Gympie Regional Council Industrial Land Study by undertaking a comprehensive assessment of the region’s current and future industrial land needs, combining economic analysis, land‑use planning, infrastructure capacity review and stakeholder engagement into a single evidence‑based framework.

The scope included auditing all existing industrial precincts across the LGA, analysing supply, vacancy, lot sizes and development readiness, modelling future demand based on industry trends and population growth, and identifying constraints such as flooding, access, servicing and environmental values.

The team worked closely with Council, landowners, utility providers and regional industry representatives to test scenarios and confirm realistic development pathways. The final study provided a clear set of recommendations on priority precincts, infrastructure sequencing, zoning and policy adjustments, and long‑term land protection to support sustainable economic growth in Gympie.
