Gold Coast Action Sports Hub Business Case

Better Cities and Think Economics delivered the Gold Coast Action Sports Hub Business Case through a tightly integrated design‑economics approach that combined benchmarking, stakeholder engagement and rigorous financial analysis to guide Council’s decision‑making.

Drawing on structured interviews, workshops and questionnaires with QAS, AusCycling and Skate Australia, the team defined a viable shared‑use operating model that balances high‑performance training needs with community access. The business case consolidated detailed CAPEX and OPEX inputs, a full cost‑benefit assessment, and lessons from leading Australian and international action‑sports facilities, concluding that the Hub can become a sustainable, high‑impact asset for the city in the lead‑up to LA28 and Brisbane 2032.
