Better Cities delivered the Moreton Bay Iconic Skate Park Feasibility Study and Concept Design through a rigorous, evidence‑based process that combined benchmarking, site analysis and structured design development.

The team began by reviewing global and national examples of iconic skate parks and assessing opportunities linked to Brisbane 2032, then inspected six potential sites and applied a detailed criteria matrix to determine the preferred location. A specific site emerged as the strongest option, and Better Cities then developed a full structure plan that defined event spaces, bowl and street zones, universal access features and supporting public realm.

This process ensured the concept design aligned with the project vision of creating “an iconic skate park that is globally recognised as a leader in universal design, leverages Olympic and Paralympic legacy and attracts skaters from around the world”.
