Gold Coast Botanic Gardens Master Plan

Better Cities delivered the Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens Master Plan by undertaking a holistic review of the Gardens’ role, function and future potential, combining landscape analysis, operational assessment, community insights and long‑term place‑making principles into a clear, actionable framework for Council.

The scope covered site-wide spatial analysis, environmental and horticultural values, visitor experience mapping, accessibility and circulation, event and education opportunities, governance and maintenance considerations, and alignment with broader City of Gold Coast strategies.

Through targeted engagement with stakeholders, benchmarking against leading botanic gardens, and scenario testing for future growth, Better Cities produced a strategic direction that identifies priority projects, investment pathways and a coherent vision to guide the Gardens’ evolution as a regional destination for learning, recreation and ecological stewardship.
