Bega Housing Structure Plans

Better Cities delivered the Bega and Wolumla Structure Plans by leading an integrated, evidence‑driven planning process that assessed land capability, infrastructure capacity, environmental constraints, housing demand and long‑term growth scenarios across both townships.

The scope included detailed spatial analysis, servicing and infrastructure investigations, demographic and economic modelling, and the preparation of clear precinct frameworks to guide future rezoning and development sequencing.

Extensive community engagement, including surveys, workshops and stakeholder meetings, ensured local priorities shaped the final plans, while coordination with NSW Government agencies aligned the structure plans with regional housing and infrastructure objectives.

The outcome was two adopted structure plans that provide a clear, staged pathway for accommodating around 3,000 new homes, improving transport and open space networks, and giving Council and the community certainty about how Bega and Wolumla will grow over the next 20 years.
