Southern Downs Industrial Land Study

Southern Downs Regional Council commissioned lead consultants Think Economics, Better Cities and Development Directive to deliver the Southern Downs Regional Council Industrial Land Study. The purpose of this study was to inform the preparation of the new Planning Scheme and support advancement of the Economic Development Strategy. This included review of existing developments in Allora, Killarney, Warwick and Stanthorpe; the relationships to strategic destinations; logistics and potential new sites.

Project outcomes were informed through:

  • stakeholder engagement;

  • market sounding;

  • policy review;

  • demand analysis;

  • trends analysis;

  • land supply and suitability review;

  • infrastructure review;

  • workforce availability; and

  • planning regulation review and improvement.
